This season will mark my 30th year as head golf professional. I am the owner of Great Lakes Golf Management, Inc. a golf course management and consulting company that also leases golf courses. Currently I am leasing The Highlands Golf Club in Grand Rapids, Michigan where I am the General Manager and Golf Professional. I am also leasing Chase Hammond Golf Club in Muskegon, Michigan where I am also the golf professional.

I graduated from of Ferris State University's Professional Golf Management Program (at that time the only program of its kind in the United States) and have been a member of the PGA of America since 1985.

Before my employment at The Highlands and Chase Hammond I worked at Winding Creek Golf Club in Holland, Michigan for 23 years. I also worked at Berrien Hills Country Club in Benton Harbor, Michigan for 3 years. Prior to Berrien Hills, I completed internships at Piney Point Golf Club in Norwood, North Carolina; Valparaiso Country Club in Valparaiso, Indiana; and Lake Houston Golf Club in Huffman, Texas.

Successful junior golf programs have always been one of my strongest goals. For the past several years we have had over 200 participants in our 4 day clinics and over 100 juniors enrolled in our junior league. I have been honored to be selected as one of the Top 50 Kid’s Teachers in America by U.S. Kid’s Golf in 2005, 2006 & 2008.

In 2002, I joined the West Michigan Junior Tournament committee and was quickly elected chairman. That same year I organized the Lake Michigan Junior Golf Tour and held 3 events in addition to the end of the year championship. Two years later the tour has grown in popularity and (now has 8 events in addition to the three day championship tournament at the end of the season. The tour events are held at quality golf courses in West and Southwest Michigan, and offer competition for ages 9-17. I am the President of the Lake Michigan Junior Golf Association a 501c3 non-profit corporation and the Executive Director of the Lake Michigan Junior Golf Tour. The junior tour has been privileged to be selected as a partner with Mizuno Golf Company which is supporting our tour in 2008.
